DATABASES

Detailed
Description:
I WENT INTO SHIPPING SOLUTIONS TODAY AND I SEEM TO HAVE LOST MY DATABASES.
HOW DO I LOCATE THEM AND REATTACH THEM.
I HAVE MONTHS OF DATA AND WOULD HATE TO START ALL OVER.
Problem Type: Databases
Version Number: Pro 7.X & Classic 6.X
Status: Closed
Solution: If you can open Shipping Solutions without generating an error message, it's highly unlikely that your databases have been deleted. Instead, your Shipping Solutions software is probably no longer connected to the data file (SSDATA.MDB) in which you've entered all your data.

If you recently installed an update to Shipping Solutions, the program will reset the data path to the default directory, which is located in (For Win XP c:\program files\ssprofessional\database; for Win 7 C:\ProgramData\Intermart\SSProfessional). If you have been using a data file in a different location, most likely in a folder on your server, you just need to change the database path to point back to this folder.

To do so, click on the Tools Menu in Shipping Solutions. This will display the database path screen. Either type in the correct path to your data file location or click on the Locate button and navigate to the correct data file. Once you've located the file, make sure you click on the Reattach to Database button. This may take a minute or two before a window pops up confirming that you are attached.

PLEASE NOTE: If you just installed a Shipping Solutions update, you must run any database updates AFTER you have attached to the proper database file.
